Islamic cleric Abu Sufyaan sparked a heated debate on social media after condemning popular Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji for his portrayal of female roles in movies, praizemedia report.
Lateef Adedimeji, an accomplished actor known for his versatile roles in Nigerian films, has been lauded for his impressive performances, including roles that require him to portray female character, ‘Iya Peju’. His ability to effectively portray such roles has garnered him praise and accolades from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

However, Abu Sufyaan took to social media to expressed his disapproval of actors adopting cross-gender roles in the film industry.
During a sermon, Abu Sufyaan expressed his concerns about the portrayal of men acting as women in movies, deeming it “forbidden by God and the Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W).” He argued that such depictions were in violation of Gods teachings and islamic rule.
Part his words, “Recently he has turn himself into a woman, all the sufism call actor Lateef Adedimeji to other, lecture him with words of God.”
